How This Calculator Works

Enter the current 24K (999 purity) gold rate per gram — you can look this up on IBJA's website — along with your gold's purity and weight. The calculator multiplies the 24K rate by your purity's fineness fraction and your weight in grams to estimate the metal's value.

Formula

Value = 24K Rate per Gram × Purity Fineness × Weight in Grams

Purity fineness: 24K = 1.000 (999), 22K = 0.916, 20K = 0.833, 18K = 0.750, 14K = 0.585.

Worked Example

At a 24K rate of ₹10,000 per gram, 10 grams of 22K (916) gold is worth: ₹10,000 × 0.916 × 10 = ₹91,600.

Weight Unit Conversions

  • 1 tola = 11.6638125 grams
  • 1 troy ounce = 31.1034768 grams
  • 1 kilogram = 1,000 grams

Frequently Asked Questions

Where do I find today's gold rate?

DailyCalculator does not publish live gold rates. Visit the Gold & Silver Prices in India page for a link to IBJA's official benchmark rates, then enter that rate here.

Does this include making charges or GST?

No. This calculator estimates only the value of the gold metal itself. For an estimate that includes making charges, wastage, and GST, use the Gold Jewellery Calculator.

Why is 22K gold worth less than 24K for the same weight?

22K gold is 91.6% pure gold by weight (916 fineness), with the remainder being other metals like silver, copper, or zinc for added strength. Since it contains less pure gold, it's worth proportionally less than 24K (99.9% pure) gold of the same weight.
